Did you know?

• Alico’s corporate headquarters are located in LaBelle, Hendry County, Florida, approximately 30 miles east of Fort Myers.  According to the 2006 U.S. Census estimate there are 40,459 residents of Hendry County.

• Before Alico was spun off from the Atlantic Land Improvement Company, the official Company color was bright purple.  The railroad chose this color to prevent paint theft.  The Company later changed its official colors to green and gold.

• Alico changed its byline from “an Agribusiness” to “a land management company” in 2006 in order to better reflect its increasing interest in nonagricultural and real estate pursuits.

• A large portion of Alico’s property in Hendry County is referred to as “Devil’s Garden”.  The parcel received its name from a native American named Sam Jones.  The government agencies pursuing Mr. Jones referred to him as the “devil”.  Sam would hide on what is now Alico’s property, which would supply him his food and water.  The locale became known as his garden, hence the term “Devil’s Garden”.

Alico’s operations include a variety of agricultural as well as nonagricultural pursuits.  Major operations of Alico currently include:

• Cattle • Citrus • Citrus marketing • Corn • Eggplant • Green beans • Land leasing • Mining • Peppers • Real estate sales • Sod • Squash • Sugarcane
